CAMP NEWS

  • November 2012- "Environment Canterbury" have approved the funding for 600 native trees to be planted around the camp property.
  • September 2012- We have received a very generous grant from the local "Pub Charities" in order to purchase brand new mattresses for the entire accomodation block!
  • 22 August 2012- With winter now coming to an end we are seeing interest in using the camp over the summer. We are pleased that we have a number of new schools interested in using the camp as well as anumber of weddings and family gatherings.
  • 30 April 2012- We continue to get great feedback about the camp. Now with the weather cooling we are pleased with the double glazing and heating and how this has made it comfortable foruser
  • 12th February 2012- We had a good weekend with another new group enjoying the camp. We are looking forward to our official opening on the 18th of February. Look forward toseeing you there!
  • 20th January 2012- We have had a good summer with good usage of the camp and everyone pleased with the new hall and its clean new facilities. The new grass has quickly established due to theexcellent weather this summer. The new kitchen is drawing much praise as has the new veranda. We are seeing an increase in bookings from schools and the new heating and insulation will make it attractive to users this winter.
  • 5th November- We have now had our first school camp and it has been great to see the camp being used by school groups for the first time since the fire in 2010.
  • 30th October- We have had our first users of the new hall (Clan Gunn) and their weekend went very well. We received many compliments about the new hall and the new kitchen. This week will see our firstschool camp with Timaru South School and Geraldine Primary School the following week. The grass seed has been sown on the front lawn and with last weeks rain and the warmer temperatures we should see the front lawn greening up over the followingweeks.We now have ride-on mower thanks to the generosity of the local Timaru Presbyterian Church
  • 22 October 2011- The new hall is complete after a working bee on Sunday prepared it for our open day on Labour Weekend Monday. We look forward to local community members and previous usersvisiting. I'm sure many people are keen to see the new hall. We have Timaru South coming for the first school camp and it is great that a school that has supported the camp for a large number of years will be the first to useit. Everyone is pleased with the kitchen with brand new appliances and utensils and a clean simple feel to it. The hall and its great veranda look like a great place to have a wedding, 21st or a familyreunion.
